পুলিশ প্রহরায় অনুষ্ঠিত হলো বাফেলো বিএনপির আলোচনা সভা!

পিবিসি নিউজ: চরম হট্টগোল ও বিশৃঙ্খলার মাঝে পুলিশের কড়া নিরাপত্তা বেষ্টনীতে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে বাফেলো বিএনপির আলোচনা সভা। গত ৩রা জুলাই, ২০২৪ রোজ বুধবার বাফেলো শহরের “লাভ বার্ড” রেস্ট্রুরেন্টের বেইজমেন্টে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার সুস্থতা কামনায় দোয়া মাহফিল ও আলোচনা সভা।

সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন কমিউনিটির শ্রদ্ধাভাজন ব্যক্তিত্ব জনাব নাজমুল ভূঁইয়া। প্রধান অতিথি হিসাবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নিউইয়র্ক স্টেট্ বিএনপির সভাপতি অলিউল্লাহ মোহাম্মদ আতিকুর রহমান, প্রধান বক্তা ছিলেন নিউইয়র্ক স্টেস্ট বিএনপির সাধারণ সম্পাদক সাইদুর রহমান সাঈদ। বিশেষ অতিথি ছিলেন নিউইয়র্ক থেকে আগত স্টেট বিএনপির জেষ্ঠ্য সহসভাপতি জসিম উদ্দিন, জেষ্ঠ্য সহ সাধারণ সম্পাদক আরিফুর রহমান আরিফ, সাংগঠনিক সম্পদক মোহাম্মদ রইস উদ্দিন এছাড়া স্থানীয় বাফেলো সিটি বিএনপির আহবায়ক প্রার্থী যথাক্রমে: নাজমুল আলম, হাবিবুর রহমান হাবিব এবং সিরাজুদ্দৌলা বাবুলকেও বিশেষ অতিথির মর্যাদায় সম্মানিত করা হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠান পরিচালনার দায়িত্বে ছিলেন যৌথভাবে তরিকুল ইসলাম প্রিন্স মৃধা, সোহেল হাওলাদার এবং ইমতিয়াজ বেলাল।

সভা অনুষ্ঠানের প্রথমেই নিউইয়র্ক স্টেট্ বিএনপির সাবেক সভাপতি আবুল বাসার, নিউইয়র্ক স্টেট্ বিএনপির সদ্য সাবেক যুগ্ম আহবায়ক মতিউর রহমান লিটু, ব্রুকলিন বিএনপির সাবেক সভাপতি কামাল উদ্দিন সহ অনেক সম্মানিত নেতৃবৃন্দকে অসম্মান করায় উপস্থিত দর্শকরা অত্যন্ত ক্ষিপ্ত হয়ে ওঠেন অবশেষে আয়োজকরা আনুষ্ঠানিক ক্ষমা চাইলে পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক হয়ে ওঠে তবে পুরো অনুষ্ঠান জুড়ে পুলিশের প্রহরা দেয়া ছিল।

ঢাকা মহানগর তাঁতীদলের সাবেক সদস্য সচিব আব্দুর রহিম, নিউইয়র্ক সিটি বিএনপি নেতা আবু জাফর ফরাজী, বাফেলো সিটি হলে কর্মরত বাংলাদেশী বংশদ্ভুত জাভেদ মোস্তফা, বাফেলো বিএনপি নেতা মেজবাহ উদ্দিন, বাফেলো বিএনপি নেতা ও এবিসিএইচ সংগঠনের সভাপতি তানভীর আহাম্মেদ, বাফেলো বিএনপি নেতা জামাল উদ্দিন, শামীম মিয়া, জাহাঙ্গীর সোহেল সহ আরো অনেকে বক্তব্য রাখেন।

দীর্ঘদিনের প্রস্তুতি নিয়ে নেতৃত্বের প্রতিযোগিতায় থাকা ত্রিধা বিভক্ত বাফেলো সিটি বিএনপির নির্ধারিত একটি সভা হওয়ার কথা ছিল গত ৩রা জুলাই, ২০২৪ রোজ বুধবার সন্ধ্যা ৯ ঘটিকার সময়। এই সভাটি সফল করার লক্ষ্যে তিন গ্রূপের তিনজন তিনজন প্রতিনিধি নিয়ে মোট ৯জন প্রতিনিধির সমন্বয়ে কাজ চলছিল প্রায় মাস খানেক ধরে। কোন কাজেই ঐক্যমত্য না হওয়ায় নিউইয়র্ক স্টেট্ বিএনপির নেতৃবৃন্দের নির্দেশক্রমে সভাটি বাতিল বলে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছিল বলে জানা যায়।
