The report of DNA test of eight accused involved in the incident of gang rape of a young woman on Sylhet MC College campus have been sent to the investigation officers.
It confirmed their involvement in the rape. But it is not clear yet how many accused, out of eight, were involved in the rape incident.
Confirming the matter at 10:15pm on Sunday, Sylhet Metropolitan Police’s Additional Deputy Commissioner BM Ashraf Ullah Taher said Shah Paran police OC Indranil Bhattacharya, also the investigation officer of the case, received the reports.
Now, the chargesheet will be submitted within a very short time. The DNA reports delayed the submission of the chargesheet, Ashraf Ullah said. The samples of the eight accused were collected for test on October 1 and 3.
On September 25, a young woman was gang raped allegedly by several BCL activists at MC College while visiting there with her husband. CL men forcibly took the couple to the college hostel at Tilagarh area at about 8:30pm, tying the husband and raped the wife.
